Sail Boats

Have you ever piloted a small sail boat all by yourself? If so then I am extremely jealous! I never have, but I’ve always wanted to do that. It doesn’t help that I live in a land-locked state. The Great Salt Lake is nearby, and there are people who sail on it – so maybe I’ll have to give it a try. Anyway, those are the thoughts that came to my mind as I read this issue of Meridian – because in this book we find a young girl piloting a small air ship all by herself as she tries to flee home. Good stuff indeed!

Synopsis:

The end of Meridian #3 saw Sephie fleeing Cadador and her evil uncle’s grasp. This issue finds her taking a small, solo airship and trying to outrace soldiers as she makes her way back to her homeland of Meridian. But the Cadadorian soldiers are a little over-zealous in their pursuit, and they accidentally knock Sephie out of her airship! Meanwhile, one of Meridian’s former councilors, Jon Takarty, is imprisoned – but an old man by the name of Arn helps him and a handful of others escape through the underground tunnels of the floating rock island.

My 2 Cents:

  • Story: 3 stars – Meh – I’m finding the pacing of the story to be a little bit slow for my tastes.
  • Art: 5 stars – Still very good and by far the best thing going for this book!
  • Fun Factor: 4 stars – Great art + a great setting makes for a fun story to read. I just wish the pace would pick up a little bit.
