Wishy Washy!

Lucy once told Charlie Brown to quit being so wishy-washy – and the same line could be used here as well. Matt can’t seem to make up his mind over whether he likes Karen or Mary more. Daredevil can’t decide if the courts should serve up justice or if he should dish it out vigilante style. Mary can’t decide if she should sway the Kingpin or Matt Murdock. And The Punisher… aw, whom I kiddin’ – he just kills all the bad guys!

Synopsis:

Last issue we got to see Daredevil and Typhoid Mary do battle – but without a clear winner. This issue begins with The Punisher gunning down some drug lords, and then vowing to go after a person who poisons aspirin. Meanwhile Daredevil tells the press how important it is for criminals to get their day in court, and Mary (the sane one) pays an uncomfortable visit to the Kingpin. Unbeknownst to Punisher Matt begins tracking down the aspirin killer too, and finds him just as Mr. White-Skull is about to deliver justice – by throwing the criminal off a building! Daredevil stops him, reaffirms his love of the U.S. court system, and proceeds to duke it out with Frank Castle. And (big surprise!) just like last issue, there is no clear winner in this fight. One thing is for sure though – the guy they’re fighting over doesn’t end up in a good way! Finally, we get to see Typhoid Mary using her feminine wiles to manipulate the fat man, and regular Mary doing the same to Matt Murdock. Sheesh – some girls are such two-timers! 😉

My 2 Cents:

  • Story: 5 stars – Yeah, gotta admit – I’m really liking Ann Nocenti’s run here! Thought provoking and action packed – way to go Ann!
  • Art: 5 stars – John Romita Jr. delivers another very strong performance in the art department – including the obligatory strange face panel!
  • Fun Factor: 5 stars – It was a blast following more of crazy Mary’s story, and The Punisher was just added fun in this already cool issue!
